Her Highness Sheikha Maryam Bint Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has been appointed as Vice President of the Presidency for National Projects Affairs in the State for Strategic Affairs in the Presidency Bureau. Dr. Ahmed Mubarak Ali Al Mazrouei has been appointed as Minister of the State for Strategic Affairs in the presidential office. Hamid Saeed Amer Hamad Al-Neyadi is now the Director of the Office of the President of the Presidential Court with the rank of Minister. Sultan Dahi Sultan Al-Humairi has been appointed as a consultant to the Office of the President of the State for Strategic Affairs in the Presidential Court.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed issued a federal decree establishing the "International Humanitarian Affairs Council," with the President of the Presidency Bureau in charge of overseeing international humanitarian affairs.
The proclamation mandated that His Highness Sheikh Dhiab bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who heads the Office of Development Affairs and the families of the dead at the Presidential Court, chair the council.
The council's members include the Minister of State for International Cooperation, Reem bint Ibrahim Al-Hashemi, Minister of Climate Change and Environment, Maryam bint Muhammad Al-Muhairi, Minister of Community Development, Shamma bint Suhail bin Faris Al Mazrouei, a consultant at the Presidential Court, Faris Muhammad Ahmed Al Mazrouei, Chairman of the Emirates Red Crescent Authority, Dr. Hamdan Muslim Al Mazrouei, General Director of the Abu Dhabi Development Fund, Mohamed Saif Al Suwaidi, and Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Development and International Organizations, Sultan Muhammad Al Shamsi. The council's responsibilities, as outlined in the decree, involve preparing and evaluating the overall policy of international humanitarian affairs, overseeing the international humanitarian affairs system, planning and executing relevant initiatives and projects, creating a strategic vision for international humanitarian affairs, establishing implementation frameworks for competent authorities, drafting a medium-term budget for international humanitarian affairs, reviewing development cooperation priorities periodically, and deciding on plans, initiatives, and projects related to international humanitarian affairs.
